What you need
In addition to the tools listed on the service request, you’ll need the following Ticker Components
- Ticker Media Player @ 1
- USB to Ethernet Adapter @ 1
Step 1: Turn power off
Disconnect power when servicing. Power can be turned off at the electrical breaker, unplugging the Ticker power cord from the back or by toggling the power switch located on the back of the ticker cabinet behind the first module as you are facing the ticker.
Step 2: Remove 1st and 2nd LED modules
LED module position can be determined by facing the LED Ticker. The first module on the right side is the 1st. The module to the left of 1 is the 2nd, then 3rd, etc.
Remove the 1st and 2nd LED module. Each LED nodule is secured to the Ticker Cabinet with 6 philips head screws - three on the top, three on the bottom.
Remove the screws from the first LED nodule. DO NOT use an oversized screw driver as it could slip from the screw and damage the LEDs. With the screws removed, gently pull the LED nodule forward until you see the connections. Disconnect the CAT5 cables, then the power cable. Carefully, set the module aside on a secure surface.
Remove the 2nd LED nodule following the same steps. Carefully set it aside on a secure surface.
Step 3: Remove USB to Ethernet Adapter
Locate the USB to Ethernet Adapter. It will be connected to the Ticker Media Player’s USB Port.
Disconnect the USB to Ethernet Adapter from the Rise Ticker Media Player. Then disconnect the CAT5 cable connected to the Ethernet port of the adapter.
Step 4: Remove Ticker Media Player
Disconnect the power cable from the Rise Ticker Media Player.
Disconnect CAT5 from On-Board Ethernet.
Remove the Rise Ticker Media Player from the Ticker cabinet.
Step 5: Install new Ticker Media Player
Mount the new Rise Ticker Media Player using the existing hardware exactly as the original was.
Step 6: Install new USB to Ethernet Adapter
Connect the CAT5 cable from the Ticker Controller to the Ethernet Port of the USB to Ethernet Adapter. Then, plug the USB side of the adapter into any one of the USB ports on the Ticker Media Player.
Step 7: Double check connections
Verify the opposite side of the CAT5 connected to the USB to Ethernet Adapter is connected to the Ticker Controller.
Verify the CAT5 plugged into the on-board Ethernet of the Ticker Media Player is to the local network (LAN).
Verify power is plugged into the Ticker Media Player
Step 8: Reinstall 1st and 2nd LED modules
Start with the 2nd LED module. First connect CAT5 between it and the 3rd LED module. Then connect power. Secure the LED module to the Ticker cabinet using the 6 screws.
