Install power cord
In some cases a newer model Sunrise Controller will be installed in a Ticker that does not have a compatible power cord. In this case, the power cord will be included with the new Sunrise Controller, and will need to be installed.
Step 1: Turn power to LED Ticker off and remove LED Modules
See this article for details on how to disconnect power and remove LED Modules.
Step 2: Remove the existing 5v power cable from the power supply.
The Sunrise Controller is powered by 5 volts provided from the Power Supply terminals labled -V and +V.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE POWER HAS BEEN TURNED OFF BEFORE PROCEEDING
Loosen the screws on the power supply running from the controller power cable to the low voltage positive (V+) and negative (V-) cables. Remove the existing power cable.
Step 3: Connect the new 5v power cable.
Important: The new cable will connect to the same terminals that the existing power cable connected to. Under no circumstances should this low voltage cable be connected to the L or N (AC) high voltage terminals.
Connect the red cable to the low voltage positive (V+) terminal.
Connect the black cable to the low voltage negative (V-) terminal.
Secure power supply screws.
Install Ticker Controller
Step 1: Disconnect cables from Sunrise Controller, and remove it.
Disconnect the 5v Power and CAT5 cables connected to the ethernet ports of the Sunrise controller.
Unfasten the screws holding the Sunrise ethernet controller to the Ticker cabinet.
Step 2: Install new Sunrise Ethernet controller
Connect the CAT5 cable from the onboard network port of the Media Player to the silver port of the Sunrise ethernet controller. The client network should plug into the USB to ethernet adapter.
Connect the CAT5 cable from the uncapped ethernet port to the first module.
Connect power cable to Sunrise ethernet controller. WARNING: Ensure that you have connected the Sunrise ethernet controller to the DC/5Volt line of the power supply and not the AC side/ 120 Volts. Connecting this incorrectly could cause sever damage.
All connections should match the following diagrams.
