For this step, you need a tv or monitor that is connected to a computer (what we call a Media Player) typically with an HDMI cable, and installed on the Media Player is our Rise Player software. We call these three parts; the monitor, the Media Player and the Rise Player software, collectively a Display, and every Display has its own unique Display ID.
You don’t need a tv, monitor, or Media Player to create your content, but you do need them to display what you’ve created.
Adding your first Display
If you’ve just completed Create Your Content, you are now seeing this screen.
If you clicked Maybe Later, and are now coming back to add your first Display, click Displays in the navigation bar.
Click Add Display and give your Display a name.
If you purchased a preconfigured Media Player from us skip this step, otherwise confirm that your computer is configured properly and then choose the right version of Rise Player to download and install on your Media Player. Make sure that the Media Player is connected to the Internet while the installation runs.
If you are turning on a preconfigured Media Player from us for the first time make sure it is connected to the Internet. After startup, Rise Player will ask you to enter a Display ID. Or if you have downloaded Rise Player and installed it on your Media Player and the installation is completed, you will be prompted to enter a Display ID when it finishes. In either case, enter the Display ID for this Display as referenced above.
What’s a Display ID? It’s a unique code that belongs to this Display and it can only be assigned to one Media Player at a time.
To make things simple we created a Schedule for you that shows your first saved Presentation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on every Display you add. If you would like to be more creative with what plays where click here to learn more about advanced Schedules.
