We all work remotely, from wherever that may be. When we need to get together we use our office in Toronto, Canada or Lenexa, Kansas.
We are all about Teams and the results that they can produce collectively far outweighing the sum of the individual contributions. Typically the best team based results happen when all members are colocated and working at the same time. We work remotely, so colocation can't happen, but ideally the team is online and communicating for the same 8 hours of every day. However, if the team feels that this isn't necessary and they are achieving their goals, and, whoever that team reports to agrees, then that team can decide what hours they work as long as they have someone available during our business hours and they are in attendance for our regular gatherings.
All conversations happen over Slack in open rooms and video conferences via Google Hangouts and Zoom. It is really important that we are transparent so that everyone has the same information from which to act. Knowledge is power and we want everyone to have the power! So please, don't DM or send private emails unless it a personal matter. Please be transparent. Share!
We do not care where you are in the world but we do care about the quality of our communication. It is very important that you have a reliable Internet connection that can consistently support video conferencing and a quiet, non-interrupt, environment from which to work.
