Company versus Sub-Company.
A Sub-Company is a company that is nested under a primary Rise Vision Company. A user in the primary Company (or Parent Company) has access to all Sub-Companies nested below it, while a user in a Sub-Company only has access to that Sub-Company and those nested under it.
There are many uses for Sub-Companies. For example, a Sub-Company can be another location of the Parent Company or it could be a department within the Parent Company, e.g., Marketing, Human Resources, Retail, Operations, etc.
By default,
Examples of how Sub-Companies are used.
I have a flower shop with three locations, a main store and two branch locations. I would like to allow the managers of the branch locations to manage their own Displays without possibly affecting the Displays at the other locations. I’ve created two Sub-Companies, one for each additional store.
Now that I’ve added Store 2 - Main St. and Store 3 - Oak Ave. as Sub-Companies, I can add users to them. When a user is added to a Sub-Company, that user only has access to that Sub-Company and cannot access Store 1 - Broadway, or Store 3 - Oak Ave.
My flower shop has now added a fourth location. This location is much larger, and has Displays in it’s showroom, as well as a Display in it’s warehouse. I want the Showroom manager to be able to manage the Displays in the showroom without interfering with what the warehouse manager has put on his Display. This is no problem! I’ll create an additional Sub-Company for the new location, and nest two Sub-Companies under it.
Now I can add my showroom manager to the showroom company, and my warehouse manager to the warehouse company. If I decide to add a general manager to the Johnson City store, I can add them as a user to Store 4 - Johnson City and they will have access to both the Showroom and Warehouse Sub-Companies.
