This guide shows you how to enable Display Control using Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) or RS232, so Rise Vision can automatically power your screen on or off based on your content schedule.
Requirements
- Your media player and TV must support the CEC or RS232 protocol
Instructions
These instructions are based on the Rise Vision Media Player. Refer to your manufacture documentation if you are using other hardware.
1. Connect Rise Vision Media Player to TV
- If you are using CEC, connect the HDMI cable from your TV to the HDMI port labeled HDMI 2.0.
- If you are using RS232, connect the serial cable from your TV to the COM port on the side.
2. Enable Display Control
- Sign into your Rise Vision account
- Click Displays in the side navigation menu
- Click the name of the Display that you want to update
- Click the Manage tab on the right side on the left-hand menu.
- Toggle Display Control to On
- Select the Mode for setup; HDMI-CEC or RS-232
- When you select RS-232, a window will open for you to specify the configuration for the serial port.
- Click the Save button to apply the change.
Behavior Notes
Once Display Control is enabled, the TV will automatically turn on and off when there is no content scheduled to show.

My media player doesn't support CEC or RS-232. What options do I have?
