Rise Vision Player for Apple TV is in active development and some features are still being implemented. It is currently in beta.
Rise Vision Player is supported on the following devices:
- Apple TV HD 4th generation and later
- Apple TV 4k 1st generation and later
* The Apple TV 4K with Ethernet is required to set up Single App Mode as per Apple

Install Rise Vision Player for Apple TV
If you will be using your Apple TV device for things other than digital signage, follow Option 1.
If you will only be using your Apple TV device for digital signage and want Rise Player to automatically start, follow Option 2.
Option 1: Install Rise Vision as a regular app
If you install Rise Player as a regular app, you will be able to use your Apple TV normally and launch the Rise Player app when you want to show digital signage.
- Find and install Rise Vision Player from the App Store:
- Open App Store on your Apple TV.
- Go to the “Search” tab and search for Rise Vision.
- Tap on Rise Vision and tap “Install”. - Next, activate your Display:
- Go to risevision.com/activate.
- Log in using the Rise Vision account you’d like to activate your display with.
- Name your display and enter the activation code that appears on the screen.
- Click “Save”.
Your display is now activated and ready to be assigned content.
Option 2: Install Rise Vision in Single App Mode
If you plan on using your Apple TV device only for Rise Vision Digital Signage, you must first prepare your Apple TV device using Apple Configurator. This will allow Rise Player to start automatically when the Apple TV device is started, and will prevent other apps from being accessed.
Note that following these instructions will wipe your Apple TV device.
- Follow this article from Apple to pair your device with Apple Configurator.
- After the preparation is complete, you will need to do user setup on the device:
- Pair your remote by tapping on it.
- Connect your device to the Internet.
- Log in with your Apple ID. - Find and install Rise Vision Player from the App Store:
- Open the App Store on your Apple TV
- Go to the "Search" tab and search for Rise Vision.
- Tap on Rise Vision and tap "Install". - Enable Single App Mode by following this article from Apple and choosing Rise Vision.
- Activate your display in Rise Vision by following the on-screen instructions:
- Go to risevision.com/activate.
- Log in using the Rise VIsion account you'd like to activate with.
- Name your display and enter the activation code that appears on the screen.
- Click "Save".
Your display is now activated and ready to be assigned content.
Creating content for Apple TV
During Rise Vision Player for Apple TV’s development, some features may be unavailable. To find content that will play correctly on Apple TV, you can use the “Apple TV Compatible” filter in the template library.
Finding templates designed for Apple TV
- Log in at risevision.com and click on Presentations.
- Click on “Add Presentation”.
- In the filters on the left, click on the “Apple TV Compatible” toggle.
- Pick a template by clicking on the + symbol.
Uploading videos from your PC
The Video Full Screen template can be used to show full screen videos. Find the Video Full Screen template in the template library or just click here to create a presentation.
- Click on the video in the preview to change it.
- In the list of options on the left-hand side, you can upload a video from your PC, or choose one you have already uploaded from Storage. Videos will be automatically converted to a supported format.
- Adding multiple videos will automatically create a playlist.
- Once you’re done adding videos, click on “Publish” to publish your content to a schedule.
Uploading images from your PC
The Image Full Screen template can be used to show static full-screen images, or to import custom static images from Canva. Find the Image Full Screen template in the template library or just click here to create a presentation.
- Click on the image in the preview to change it.
- In the list of options on the left-hand side, you can upload a static image from your PC, or choose one you have already uploaded from Storage. Supported formats are PNG, JPG, and non-animated GIFs.
- Adding multiple images will automatically create a slideshow.
- Once you’re done adding images, click on “Publish” to publish your content to a schedule.
Uploading content from Canva
Find the Image Full Screen template in the template library or just click here to create a presentation.
- Click on the image in the preview to change it.
- On the left-hand side, choose “Design with Canva”.
- Leave the default aspect ratio selected and click “Design with Canva”.
- Log in to your Canva account. If you don’t already have one, you can sign up for free.
- In the list of options on the left, you can select an existing design to use as a template. Your custom designs are in the “Projects” tab.
- You can make changes to your design before saving it. Clicking “Save” will save your design directly to Rise Vision without altering the original in Canva.
- Once you’re done making changes, click on “Publish” to publish your content to a schedule.
Scheduling content for your Apple TV
Like any other Rise Vision Display, your Apple TV display will follow the schedule playlist that is assigned to it.
If your Apple TV display shares a schedule with other types of Rise Vision Displays, content that isn't supported yet will simply be skipped on the Apple TV and play normally on other displays.
