Install Rise Player on AppleTV using Mosyle

You can use Mosyle to easily install Rise Player on a group of Apple TV devices. First you'll create a Mosyle push certificate and device group. Then you'll add Rise Vision to your applications and configure it. Finally, You will configure Rise Vision to use classroom alerts and automatic alerts with Mosyle. To follow this article, you will need:

• A Mosyle account with access to https://mybusiness.mosyle.com/
• An active Rise Vision subscription
• An Apple ID
• An AppleTV device that has not been previously managed using Jamf Pro or Jamf and is supervised in Mosyle

 

Step 1: Create your Push Certificate

You'll start off by logging in to your https://mybusiness.mosyle.com/. After logging in, the first step is to configure a push certificate. Follow the steps on the Configuration screen:

 

 

1. Navigate to Organization -> Basic Setup -> Push Certificate
2. Download the CSR file from Mosyle
3. Log into https://identity.apple.com/pushcert/ using your company's Apple ID
   • Click Create a Certificate
   • Upload the CSR file
   • Download the certificate
4. Now upload the certificate into Mosyle

Step 2: Create a Device Group

Next, create a device group within Mosyle to keep your devices

1. Navigate to Management -> Devices -> Device Groups -> Add Device Group
2. Add a device group named DisableAirPlay leave all other options blank
3. Add a device group named SingleAppDeviceGroup . For this device group, set the device criteria to Supervision Status is Enabled

 

Step 3: Add and configure the Rise Vision Player app

Add Application to Mosyle

Now that you have your groups created, you can use Mosyle to add the Rise Vision app to your devices.

1. Navigate to the Applications -> AppleApps and Books (VPP)
2. Click Add account and follow the instructions on screen to link the account with Apple Business Manager
3. After adding the token / account, add the Rise Vision Player app via the Apple Business manager, under Apps and Books

Install Application on AppleTV Devices

Next install the Rise Vision application.

1. Add an install App profile by navigating to Management Profiles -> Install App -> Add new profile.
2. Click the C in the player icon and add the following AppConfig  <dict><key>udid</key><string>%UUID%</string></dict> 
3. Ensure Enable Variables is checked as well as Prepare and Apply an AppConfig PLIST.
4. Under Profile Assignment, assign the SingleAppDeviceGroup.
5. Click Save.

 

 

Step 4: Configure Rise Vision player for classroom alerts

Add an Application Lock

Add an application level lock that allows for locking a single app on a device.

1. Navigate to Profiles -> App Lock -> Add new profile.
2. Create a new profile and call it SingleApp or AppLock.
3. Click Choose Application then filter by Apps and Books and choose Rise Vision Player.
4. Assign it to the SingleAppDeviceGroup.
5. Click Save.

Add Restrictions

1. Add a Restriction profile for removal of AirPlay permission
2. Select Management Profiles -> Restrictions -> Add new profile
3. Name it "DisableAirPlay" and under Select Restrictions, choose the Disable AirPlay restriction
4. Assign it to the DisableAirPlay Device Group
5. Click Save

Access Tokens

Add an access token for the Mosyle API.

1. Navigate to Organization -> Integration -> Mosyle API Integration.
2. Choose Add new token.
3. Give it a name and select the access method.
4. Copy the access token to insert into your Rise Vision account.
5. Click Save.

 

Step 5: Configure Rise Vision to use Mosyle

Finally, you'll configure your company in the Rise Vision application to that it uses Mosyle.

1. After navigating back to Risevision.com, click on your company menu on the top-right of the screen. Choose Company Settings from the dropdown menu.
2. Add your Mosyle Administrator email address and password (if you prefer, an alternative email can be created and configured in Mosyle).
3. Paste the access token from the Step 3.
4. Click Save.

The Rise Vision Player will automatically open on the selected devices. Activate your displays by following the on-screen instructions.
