To use Rise Vision on a Promethean ActivPanel (AP9) device, the app must be deployed and configured using Promethean’s Mobile Device Management (MDM) system.
Follow the steps below to ensure proper installation and configuration.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have the following:
- A Rise Vision company with an available license
- A Promethean ActivPanel 9 device without a previous install of Rise Vision
- Access to one.prometheanworld.com
Please note that due to hardware limitations Rise Vision’s Display Control and Auto Restart features cannot power on or restart these devices.
1. Request Rise Vision be added to your Promethean MDM
Promethean devices are typically managed using an MDM. If Rise Vision is not already available in your environment:
- Contact risevision@prometheanworld.com and request that the Rise Vision Player be added to your Promethean device group.
Important: You cannot install Rise Vision manually unless your MDM allows direct access to the Google Play Store.
2. Install Rise Vision via MDM
To deploy Rise Vision Player on your Promethean device using your Mobile Device Management (MDM) system. In most cases this is https://one.prometheanworld.com/
In the MDM console, navigate to:
Admin Tools > Applications > Select Rise Vision
From the Devices section, click Edit Devices
- Select the devices you wish to install Rise Vision on.
- Optionally, create a tag to group specific devices.
- You may also choose to install on all available devices.
Confirm the app has been successfully installed by checking for the Rise Vision Player icon on the Promethean board.
3. Allow Rise Vision to display over other apps
For Rise Vision to work correctly with CAP Alerts or other emergency notifications:
To confirm, Open taskbar - Applications Settings > Apps > Special App Access > Display over other apps > Rise Player
- On the device, open Settings.
- Go to Apps > Rise Vision Player.
- Tap “Display over other apps”
- Enable the permission
This ensures that alerts and critical messages can appear over signage when necessary.
4. Disable sign-in overlay that appears over Rise Vision
On your promethean board open the bottom menu by tapping on the bottom of the screen.
Navigate to Applications > Settings > Apps
Ensure the option “Show Promethean Welcome Screen at start up and sign out” is toggled off
