Rise Vision has several ways to make sure your content is seen on the displays at the right times. Below is overview of a few terms that can lead to confusion when it comes to some of these features.
Scheduled Overrides allow users to temporarily supersede the default Rise Vision content on displays during specific periods of time or special finite events to show different or additional content.
- This requires no other software.
- This is enabled in a schedule's settings, and is set ahead of time.
- The feature can completely replace the current default content (called an Override - Replace) or can temporarily force the inclusion of additional content with the current default content (called an Override - Include).
- When a scheduled override ends, the displays will return to showing their default content.
CAP (Common Alerting Protocol) Alerts allow emergency alerts to be shown on displays. These emergency alerts act like Scheduled Override - Replace except:
- The alerts require a 3rd-party CAP provider to trigger the event.
- They are enabled from your account settings by connecting your account to the CAP provider.
- The feature will replace all the current default content AND any other override content.
- When a CAP alert expires or is "given the all clear", the displays will return to show their previous content.
Classroom Alerts are an additional functionality of the Rise Vision application, where in the app can interrupt a non-Rise Vision app that is currently in use on a display in order to show priority messages. To word it differently, the Rise Vision application will takeover the screen from other apps that are in use. These alerts can be scheduled overrides or CAP alerts. This is considered distinct though because:
- These alerts are only possible on a display with an Android operating system, and as of the end of March 2025 a Windows operating system.
