We highly recommend using our pre-designed templates for the variety of great-looking content designed specifically for your digital signage needs.
Don’t forget to refine your template search using the filter feature when looking for a specific template design. A template that you would like to build may already exist!
In this article, we will go over the basic setup for the Blank template. This more advanced level template allows users to create a fully customized presentation from the ground up.
There are four primary components when creating a presentation from a blank template:
- Resolution - Select a resolution and orientation that matches the TV that you're going to show the presentation on.
- Background - Set the color or select an image.
- Placeholders - A placeholder is a container for a playlist of content items. Create and arrange as many placeholders as you want within your presentation to organize and control the layout. A placeholder can be any size and placed anywhere within the presentation.
- Playlist Content Items - We have a variety of playlist content items that can be selected to build your presentation.
Select A Blank Template
- Log in to your Rise Vision account. Click Presentations from the menu at the top left.
- On the presentations page, click the green Add Presentation button.
- In the Add From Template pop-up window that appears, find the template named Blank. Click its Add button to select it. This closes the Add From Template pop-up window and takes you directly into editing the template that you just selected.
Set The Resolution
- Open the presentation settings by clicking the ellipsis icon next to the presentation name.
- Select a resolution and orientation that matches the TV that you're going to show the presentation on. If you don’t see the resolution you need in the drop-down select “Custom” to specify your own.
Set The Background
- Open the presentation settings by clicking the ellipsis icon next to the presentation name.
- Set a background color by clicking on the color selector wheel.
- Select a background image by clicking the Use Image checkbox and then clicking on the select an image icon to the right of the image URL field. From here you can select an existing image or upload a new one.
Add A Placeholder
- Click on Add in the upper left corner.
- The placeholder can be sized and positioned to whatever fits your layout. It can cover the entire layout, meaning the pixel width and height match the overall presentation resolution, or it can be sized so it's just a portion of the layout. Resizing and repositioning can be done through click and drag or by entering the precise values by selecting Properties.
Add Content Items To The Playlist
- We have a variety of playlist content items that can be selected to build your presentation.
- Text (static, scrolling)
- Image
- Video
- Time and Date
- Google Spreadsheet
- Google Calendar
- RSS
- Web Page
- HTML
- Embedded Presentation (only the Blank template can be embedded using this widget, additionally the Blank template cannot be embedded into our pre-made templates)
Repeat the above steps to add and arrange as many additional placeholders to your layout as you need.
Once saved, your new presentation will be added to your list of presentations and ready to schedule to your displays.
