As technology improves and features are added to Rise Vision, we do our best to make sure your displays keep working just like they always have. Unfortunately, there are times when a change is so big that we have to stop supporting older content. When that happens, we will send deprecation notices well in advance so you have time to prepare.
Here’s what it means:
Third-Party Widget Deprecation
Some widgets that were previously available from the blank template were created by third parties. Since then, we’ve released our templates, and the technology behind these older widgets has become difficult or even impossible to maintain.
In many cases, the widget was replaced by a template. Find the widget you’re replacing in the list below for some suggestions on replacement.
If you’re not sure what you need to replace, let us know and we’ll track it down!
Weather Forecast widget and Mostly Sunny! Widget
The weather widgets were replaced by our Weather templates. We have many popular weather templates, but here are two examples:
- For an extended full screen forecast, use the Vector Image Weather Template
- To show the weather with other content, use the Zoned Minimalist Welcome Template
Traffic Map
We don’t have a replacement for the Traffic Map widget. You can either replace it with different content, or just remove it.
Ticky widget (Scrolling Ticker)
Some of our zoned templates feature an area with scrolling text. Check out:
Facebook widget and Photo Feed widget (Google Photos, Instagram)
We don't have a replacement for these social media widgets. Our friends at Seenspire have awesome social media and infotainment content that can be embedded into our templates by following this article: How can I show social media feeds on my display?
News Headlines
This widget was replaced by our RSS templates. We have many popular RSS templates, but here are two examples:

Sports Scores
We don't have a replacement for the sports scores widget. Most sports news outlets have RSS feeds you can use to obtain sports scores and other news. We have a template that shows sports news by default: RSS Sports News Template
CountDown widget and CountUp widget
These widgets were replaced with various templates. Most of our countdown templates are themed for specific events, but they all can be edited with your own dates and text.

Weather Maps
We don’t have a replacement for the Weather Maps widget. Our weather templates will provide the current weather and the 5-day forecast.

Flight Monitor Arrivals and Departures
We don’t have a replacement for the Flight Monitor widget. You can either replace it with different content, or just remove it.
Vimeo and YouTube widgets
We don’t have replacements for these widgets. You can embed YouTube or Vimeo content into the HTML template by clicking the “Share” button and copying the embed code.
