I've had pretty good luck with using Pines running Android Lollipop to run digital signage. Although, I can't seem to figure out how to get rid of the bar that comes up on the bottom of the display when you touch it the first time. I've tried the rooted image for android but still no luck. Even after selected for the navigation bar to be turned off in the My Rise Player app.

    Any suggestions?

It really depends on the root but you could download a build.prop editor. If the device has root then all you need to add or change is qemu.hw.mainkeys = 1 in the editor. That will completely disable navigation bar from showing up. If your using super su as a root you might need to update it as well.

    Hope this helpd. Thanks

Interesting. I'll definitely give this a shot because using your app has been the easiest thing when using these small boards.

I'm using the same setup and getting good results.  My only problem is how do I start the app automatically.  The checkbox does nothing for me.

I've recently been having loads of issues with the Pine being able to connect to the network over ethernet. This is a big problem when I'm trying to download the My Rise Player app. And I seemed to start having this problem when I started using the (rooted) images for the disks.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

I've been using rooted version 6 without any problems. I was going to switch to non-rooted just to see if there is any difference.

Are you using 8gb cards or 16gb cards?

I'm actually using a 64GB card. I was trying to find a good pine64 4K digital Signage. I've had nothing successful except for rise Vision.  It's not 4K but it's at least successful and with time i'm hoping the Android os will support 4K.
