    Hello RV News,

The Rise Player will cache videos and pictures in a Presentation, for each Presentation on a Schedule. Because of the Caching, the Player will query our servers for updated content in your Presentations every 20~ minutes.

Please let us know if we may assist you further! :)

Thanks, if I have two or more presentations in a schedule, are they all stored in the cache. Or does the second presentation overwrite the cache of the first presentation.

    Hi  RV News,

In this case, the content from all Presentations linked to the Schedule would be stored, except for content that isn't cached regardless, like HTML widget or Google Calendar Widget, to name two.

Please let us know if you have any further questions! :)

    Hi Mike -

    I have a question here:

Is there a way to Cache HTML content?

I believe the depreciated HTML Item would Cache content. But the new HTML Widget does not?

How can I cache HTML Content?

    Thanks a ton!

Jeremy, it does cache most of HTML content, but all will be gone after reboot. However, The Pro version of RV player can cache HTML and later play content offline even after an offline reboot. However, it requires the HTML (webpage) to be built according to these guidelines here: https://help.risevision.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003830563-Getting-started-with-Rise-Player-Professional?_ga=2.107388866.1396578033.1511790649-1147082278.1510850107 and here: https://github.com/Rise-Vision/platinum-sw-demo

Not so straightforward and simple as it supposed to be, but it is doable.

Why do you need to cache HTML, tho?

    Darius -

We will point to a Google Slide presentation for content. We use the "embed" feature, essentially putting the url into an iframe in the HTML.

When using the retired Item, it would cache and store the content.

This was valuable if the Internet went down, but the player didn't restart.

The widget seems to pull the Google Slide fresh every single time it shows in a presentation. Not only is it bad if the internet goes down (because it won't show); there is also a pesky "Loading" screen that pops up momentarily.

Do you have a suggestion on holding HTML content?

    Thanks

    Jeremy

Jeremy, u are right, Google Slides is one of those things that does not get cached. Perhaps there could be some workaround solution, but in order for me to think of something I must know how exactly your presentation with the Slides is built, functions, and is scheduled.

About 'Loading' message. I do not get that; never seen it before. Not sure if that has anything to do with the Internet connection or the way I have this implemented.
