    Hi there Brittney,

Looking at your Presentation, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't show, I wonder if this is due to some recent OS change on Chrome OS, which is no longer supported by Rise Vision (More on that here). Any chance you have a Windows or Linux box around that you could test this same Presentation using the supported Windows or Linux Player? This would help determine if this was due to a ChromeOS issue, which I think is the case here.

    I hope that helps!

ahahaha I am taking my words back. The clock disappeared from our Chromebox display this morning too. I guess it is time for custom html then )))

I didn't realize Chrome OS is no longer supported. Unfortunately, I do not have another player on hand.

I have a display on the old editor that time widget is still working on. Is your display on the new editor?

You can say 'display on the editor' because it does not work that way. But yes, this presentation was created using the new editor. However, the quick test showed that the time/date widget does not work on chromebox even if presentation was created using the old editor. I believe this happened after Chrome update that, of course, was forced onto unmanaged chromeboxes. I also believe that managed chromeboxes have not been affected. I do not know for sure as, I do not have managed chromeboxes playing anything with time/date widget.

I am on a fire tv stick and am not either seeing it. Was there a change to the widget code?

Same thing here. I've had this widget running on a managed Chromebit for a couple years. It stopped working two days ago as well.

Do you mind sharing the code you used for that HTML?

I do not, but it is custom styled to match what was there before when Time/date Widget was functioning. It all started as one widget for both time and date, but I separated them. So you get two widgets, one for each. Take the code and paste it into the HTML Widget (replace whatever is there completely). Then modify it to fit your needs. Note: those were styled to fit placeholder 640X100.

Another good place to look for something like that is codepen.io

Thanks Darius :) May do this in the meantime, but I'll probably just fork our own widget so we can host ourselves and rule out one more point of failure.. Wonder what they did to cause our managed Chromeboxes to lose the date :/

Well guys we've fixed it already (extrapolation of Darius's code and just making our own widget to host) but I did want to note one more thing for you.

We noticed this started happening with our managed Chromeboxes yesterday (Perhaps it did last week? Unsure, it was the first customer call and our box in the center stopped working after reboot). I can verify it's doing it on one Chromebox 56.0.2924.121, and one Chromebox 51.0.2704.103 (both managed).

More interestingly (and why I decided to give you some notes because I think you may want to look into it), it also does it in my browser. 58.0.3029.110.
What I mean by that is instead of going to
    http://preview.risevision.com/Viewer.html?type=preview&id=XXXXXXXXX<br>I go to
    http://preview.risevision.com/Viewer.html?type=display&id=XXXXXXXXX
    and there's nothing.

So it works with type=preview, but not with type=display. My hunch is something changed in the player that is no longer playing nicely. I'm highly confused why it's working on our Ubuntu box, but all the same..

    Cheers.

Windows players aren't affected by this.

Also interesting to note I can take the exact same URL (with type=display) and it works in FireFox 53.0.3 ;)
So whatever they've done is also happy enough with the Chromium inside of Electron too ;)

But my colleague just said he saw a fix was put out - so woohoo!

    Hello all,

Our apologies for this. We have just pushed an update to our system which has resolved the disappearance of time and date widgets from your Presentations. To be sure your ChromeOS devices receive this update, please restart your players, boxes, and the like, and run your Presentations.

If you continue to see issues with time & date, please let us know!

    Regards,
    Mike Thomas
