    Hi Jeremy!

Apologies for the late reply. I had to dig into our Calendar Widget and try a few scenarios to test just how this is working currently.

I tried several events of the same duration. Neither Google Calendar or the widget used an alphabetical approach.

I then adjust the end time of the events. Google Calendar sorts by the duration of the event (longest first) but this order does not follow through to our widget:

Interestingly, the same event order was applied to both cases in the Rise Vision presentation.  Unfortunately, there's no clear logic to it!  My best guess is that it lists the event in the same order the requests are received from the server, but that doesn't help you much.

What I can do is: note a request to chronologically sort Calendar events first by Start Time, and then Duration (the shortest meeting being listed first). This would happen before any alphanumeric sorting.

Please let me know your thoughts, and if that would help your situation!

    Hello -

Does anyone in the community have a response to how the Calendar orders the events?

    Thanks in advance!

I have no clue how this widget works, but what the ordering of events actually looks on your Google calendar? What if this issue has something to do with Google and not Rise Vision. I just took a peek at our Google calendar and all is in order first by time, then alphabetically:

How are you adding those events to your calendar?

    Adrian -

That would be 100% appreciated. I think that is a great action to take. Thank you.

And one correction I would make: Duration on Top. Google Agenda (Schedule) View lists it as (see screen shot below):

    1. Start Time
    2. Duration: LONGEST (not shortest) on top
    3. Alphabetical

    Darius -

Here are 3 screen shots: first 2 of my calendar, and the 3rd of the RV output.

As you can see, Google has a reason to it's order: Start Time, Duration, then Alphabetical. But the RV Widget does not.

Thanks for all the help thus far,

    Jeremy

    Jeremy and Darius,

Thank you for the assistance on getting to the bottom of this one!

It's clear we'll need to match the sort order of Google Calendar (longest duration first, not shortest as you pointed out).

    I'll pass this info along!

    Thanks, Adrian

Do you have a time frame for this kind of update? Specifically: Changing how the events order?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Jeremy!

No time frame I can give you quite yet. I've pinged our Widget/Content Product Owner so that they're aware, and I'll be sure to update this thread as soon as there's word on a change. Sorry I can't get more specific for the short term!
