    Hi Liangj!

A big part of this question will be the operation system your Smart TV runs on. If you can give the model name here,  we can chat about how Rise Player might fit into your signage system.

Yes, just about any modern TV is compatible with EXTERNAL players. However, I highly recommend something designed with Digital Signage in mind. Such like this: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2F84RX9347&cm_re=SL4851-_-24-016-388-_-Product This thing is extremely reliable (we had certain issues with similar Samsung Digital Signage TV), very basic and the most importantly it will turn on when receives the video signal from your player. The downside is the picture quality that is not great for very small text. It is a really minor issue, bu I've seen a better picture than this. There are better, more expensive models available.

Another thing to consider before you start buying things and building presentations is RESOLUTION. If you buy 4K TV, then build 4K presentations for it. And buy a player capable of handling your content.

Adrian and Darius - thanks for your help.

I am looking at this - Samsung UN55J6201AF J6201 Series

    on https://www.cdwg.com/product/Samsung-UN55J6201AF-J6201-Series/4374663?pfm=srh

Could this work as good as the Planar SL4851?

    The Philips Signage Solutions Q-Line BDL5530QL Q-Line - 55" Class

    https://www.cdwg.com/product/Philips-Signage-Solutions-Q-Line-BDL5530QL-Q-Line-55-Class-54.6-viewab/3978877?pfm=srh

cost more - and am not sure if it is necessary to buy a product with "signage" in label.

Darius - I found this on cdwg (we are required to purchase from cdwg) -

Planar Simplicity Series SL5551 55" LED display

    https://www.cdwg.com/product/Planar-Simplicity-Series-SL5551-55-LED-display/3731260?pfm=srh

This is 55' instead of 48'. I assume this should work as well, since they are from the same product line? Thanks a lot for your advice.

I forgot to mention that there also was a larger 55in brother to 48in Planar model. It is the same TV and we used both of them. You can also look at these https://www.samsung.com/us/business/products/displays/standalone/s/_/n-10+11+15pexw/ if you have the budget. I personally did not try them and do not know much about them. But Samsung is a reputable company, so I could trust them.

Ther other companies making similar models such as LG. What you need to know is all modern TVs capable of receiving a video signal from external PC will work for you. Regular TVs is not the best option. Get a digital signage TV or even better a display. Also get a player capable of KIOSK mode type of operation and adequate to the content you are planning to run on it.
