We have a couple signs that have been going completely white randomly. It is nothing to do with scheduling, since either rebooting the player itself or refreshing the player in the Rise web app assists in fixing the issue. We use Intel NUCs for our players, and have quite a collection now. We haven't had many major problems until this recent white screen issue.
For one of our displays, titled "goodyear-sign1," this issue has happened once a week in the past three weeks. There is no pattern. The first week (the week of 2/5), we got notice from the managers at the location of the sign around 4:45pm. The second week (week of 2/12), it happened on Wednesday and we got notice around 11am. Then it happened yesterday and we got word in the morning, around 8:30am.
This sign has the same exact time schedule and similar content as goodyear-sign2 and goodyear-sign3, and those two signs have been perfectly fine.
For another one of our displays (on a different account, not this one), we have a simple slideshow of jpgs that runs for 24/7 that went white randomly sometime on Friday 2/16. It is an important sign of high caliber, so failing randomly in the day put the blame on us, no matter how quick it was to fix it.
We are currently creating some new signs, and one that we just recently deployed for testing is titled "putnams-sign-stackers." The first time we connected it to a computer monitor for testing, Rise loaded but displayed the white screen. Then re-connecting to a TV monitor kicked the presentation on correctly. We are not exactly sure what the problem was there, since that has never happened before during our tests.
All of these signs are set in the display tab to do reboots at 2am, so we know it's not that. Also the players for all these are up to date as far as we know/according to the web app settings information. Not sure what else we can do to fix this issue.
