    Hi All,

We have been informed that Google have now identified and fixed the issue that was blocking access to the spreadsheets, however please do let us know if you are still having issues.

If you would like to read more about this issue, you can read Google's update here: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/111262653#comment77

Thank you all for your patience while waiting for this issue to be resolved.

    Thanks,

    Peter

Hi Shea. Thanks for the update. We are struggling with this too. The spreadsheet was recreated and it worked for a couple of days but has stopped again. The user is typing data into a text widget as a work-around. Any further updates appreciated.

    Regards
    Steven

I would like to learn more about this if possible. I was not gonna touch sheets before this issue gets resolved, but my manager went ahead and updated one of the sheets (he was not aware of this problem at that time). So, now in preview, we see this error messages instead of the content of the sheet, but the display is working fine... sort of. It still shows the content of the sheets, but not the updated list. The display even rebooted at night. Is it playing content from cache (not the pro player)?

I'm not sure why your display is behaving like that, it might have been offline and when a refresh was supposed to happen and is now showing stale data. If it's showing the error in preview I imagine on the next refresh it will start showing the error.

Has anything happened with it since you posted?

    Thanks

The update to the sheets file was made at 6PM yesterday. The player rebooted at 3AM last night. It has been online all the time, it is now. The widget is set to refresh every 5 min. The copy of the same presentation showed the error on a different test display. I believe that after the reboot the main display with the affected presentation will go bad too. None of the other presentations show signs of the error (in the editor or display). I speculate that only edited sheets get affected at this time. I would not even open the sheets files that are fine at this time.

Yeah I was just talking with our developer who posited the same thing, that if you open the sheet and edit it, it seems to trigger the problem.

I took another look at the issue and it seems like it's started to grow as a number of people have piled on the past 24 hours: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/111262653 Hopefully this gets Googles attention a little faster.

As a workaround, I am gonna make HTML tables and use the HTML widget to replace the sheets widget temporarily (hopefully).

Interestingly, but the presentation just kept showing the 'old' version of the sheets every time I was reloading it. Never showed me any error messages.

Yeah, I just spoke to another colleague who said the spreadsheet widget will request data and if it gets the 403 permission denied error it will check cache which explains the old data.

    Thanks Shea and team;

Please keep us updated if you know any details.

    I'm seeing same problem.

Here are some interesting things I see:

    1) a newly created presentation with a sheets widget will Not pull in the data

    2) an existing presentation with a sheets widget that I have previewed / played recently (don't know what range exactly) Will indeed pull in cached data

    3) re-booted players are still showing cached data

    Google Sheets:

If you copy the url of a sheet that has its sharing setting set to "Anyone with Link: View" and view in an incognito tab - it still shows and displays. So there is no error on that aspect of it.

    Thanks

    Jeremy

    Hi all,

If you haven't already please star the issue so that it gets more attention from Google.

    Thanks

We're seeing a similar issue.  I haven't seen a 403 error yet.  But all our kiosks that pull from this google sheet are not showing any information that is stored there.  Instead we see the presentation structure and a blue background where there should be info.

    Hello Joshua,

I believe we received a ticket about your issue. It seems a little different, but given that you're pulling data from Google Sheets, it's likely this is related.

We'll be sending an e-mail out when the issue with Google Sheets is deemed resolved by Google, however if you continue to experience this after the Google Sheets issue has been resolved on Google's end, please update your ticket with us as soon as possible.
