I was working on an issue for a user where the message "The media playback was aborted due to a corruption problem or because the media used features your browser did not support" kept showing up in place of their video at random times. There was no rhyme or reason, the CPU and disk activity was steady, the video was tested on other devices, however it continued to happen.
We did some investigating, and discovered a lot of other people reporting the same thing occurring when playing videos with browsers, and there were a couple of culprits:
- Antivirus scans occurring that were causing the CPU and/or memory to go to 100%
- Any Scheduled Tasks that would cause the CPU to be chewed up
- OS Updates, specifically Windows updates
- And finally, the one that was the culprit here, an update to the video card driver
If you find that message showing up on your Display, I would strongly recommend first updating the video card driver, and running all updates on the OS. That was what fixed it for me!
I hope that helps!
