    Hi there Jeff,

I've heard of others doing this, though I've never tested it myself. My understanding is the Display that will be showing the Presentation with the page in it, needs to be able to successfully access the page you want to open from that local server. The best way to test that would be to open it in a browser on the Display first, just for confirmations sake.

Another thing you want to make sure of is that you DO NOT restrict the page from being shown in an iFrame. When you put a web page into a Presentation, you are basically embedding it into another webpage, and a good majority of webpages do not allow this. To see what I mean, try putting cnn.com into the WebPage Widget, and try playing it on a Presentation. Notice how it is a blank page? That is because they don't allow embedding their page. So you want to make sure that setting is OFF in your web server settings.

Let us know if that helps!

Some time ago I tested the possibility of pulling locally stored files to RV. And it worked! I was able to pull an image file to RV straight from the Desktop. It was a while ago and I am not sure if something like that would work now.

I realize this is an older thread, but just to throw in my 2c, you can absolutely use local addresses (barring the info that Robb posted above). I've used RiseVision several times to point to URLs using local webcam streams to see if customers are at the door, view the satellite on the roof, etc. Works great :)
