    Darius,

Can you tell me (or email in to support@risevision.com if you prefer), which Company this is? Typically that message means that the Subscription has been cancelled, the trial is over, or the files in Storage have been disabled access due to bandwidth abuse.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Robb, I suspect bandwidth abuse. This is Acme Digital Sign/Acme Sign Co. I have a multi-page presentation and using the Web Page App to pull the custom weather info to pretty much every page (21 pages or so). Each instance of the widget is refreshing every 5min (because the next one up 30min wait is long). Hey, I have to do what I have to do here because it is not my fault that RV was not able to offer any reasonable solution for the interactive multi-page presentations )))

Can you Robb confirm that this error is triggered by the so-called 'bandwidth abuse' (it should not be a thing in this case), so I could go ahead and manually modify the time setting to like 15min refresh intervals?

    Darius,

I've asked a member of our Dev team to investigate this and I will let you know as soon as I hear back. Thanks!

    Darius,

Bandwidth abuse was indeed the issue. The file was automatically blocked, since it was downloaded over ten thousand times on Friday and was therefore blocked.

OK, what is the limit then, Robb? Also, was the file blocked by the RV Storage or Widget? Would moving the file to my online hosting server can help me here?

    Darius,

Moving the affected file off of Rise Storage will definitely correct the issue, and the file is blocked by Rise Storage, not the Widget itself.

The limit fluctuates based on global averages, but it's WAY lower than ten thousand downloads per day :)

    I hope that helps!

I do not know how requests are counted on your end, but simple math shows: 1 widget with 12 requests per hour (every 5 min) equals 288 requests in 24 hours; multiplied by 21 widget instances equals to 6048 requests. So, it cannot really be 10000. I agree that is way too many anyway, but the Web Page widget's settings allow 1,5,30,60 min refresh intervals. Was it really difficult to add 10 & 15 and maybe 20 min intervals? In this case, I am using this for real-time weather forecast info, so I found that 15min refresh interval is the sweet spot for that (we are on the east coast and weather can change here rapidly, especially in summer). Anyway, thankfully we have access to presentations' HTML code and that allowed me to tweak refresh settings manually to 15 min (not sure if it worked, though). It is not difficult, but too hacky for 'a good customer experience' IMO. Yet I still was hit with that block from RV; although, theoretically, I was not requesting more than 2304 times in 24 hours. Again, I am not sure if manual tweaking did anything at all. Now I have set all the widgets to 30 min refresh interval.

    Darius,

After speaking with our Dev team, it looks like those changes worked. On Saturday, this file was at 2004 downloads, then on Sunday, at 2025. So far today it's at 971, and the file is not currently blocked.

So it sounds like the fix is working as expected!

Robb, and YES and NO. Apparently, the custom tweaking worked... for the number of requests, but I still found an error message this morning. It looks like the limit is set really low... for me ))) I will keep as is for now just to see how it goes, but I am considering moving this file to our online hosting server. Not the great value for RV Storage considering all things, but it is reliable!

Robb, error again... I am not requesting more than 2016 times/24 hours. Is this still too many for you?! How can one run any sort of 'real-time' data using RV Storage then?

Update. It was even less than that... only 1200 times.

    Darius,

Is this the same file you're seeing this issue with? From what we can tell over here, that same file being referred to originally is currently not blocked. The he 1SPweather.html file is currently public, and was last changed at 4:49am EST, so about 6 hours ago.

Let me know if it is a different file, and I'll look into that one.

Robb, that is the file! Just so you know, yesterday morning I changed most of the widgets' refresh settings to 30min and all of them worked fine for the entire day and I checked before I left for the day. This morning @ 8:30 EST I found them showing the same error message. I changed all of their links to point to the file on our host server. So far so good. I am not sure what that 4:49 EST thing was... I did not do anything )
