    Good morning,

I can now confirm that the issue causing this has been resolved.  In order to get the update and have Rise Player launch as expected, please restart your Chrome devices.

Let me know if you have any questions or need a hand and I'll be happy to assist.

    Cheers,

    Patrick

Yes I am seeing this on one of my devices - it has Chrome version 68. My other 3 devices are ok at the moment as they are on Chrome version 63.

I am going to a Powerwash and Revert on this device...

But definitely an issue that needs to be reviewed and sorted ASAP

Also if I try to install the RisePlayer app I get an error - package is invalid: Localisation used, but default_locale wasn't specified in the manifest

I smell an outage.  We are offline this morning as well throughout our campus

I've managed to get some of ours to work by logging in, running the Rise Player manually and entering a display ID. Not practical to do for a whole university though...

One message that did appear, whether relevant or not, "this application has been disabled as it requires more permissions that previously given" or words to that effect. Once clicking enable it runs manually but still not as a kiosk application.

This would happen on the day we have British Royal Family visiting! 🙄

We only have 4 here, three Chromebox 3's and one Chromebox 2. All getting the same error "Kiosk Application can not be installed"

One of the 3's wasn't being actively used and is on 67.0.3396.99 getting same error.

The other 3 are on 73.0.3683.88

Yes, it looks like all my displays last connected at 3:00 am this morning.  When I reboot the Chromeboxes, it attempts to connect to RiseVision, and the app abruptly stops and the display reverts back to the Google login screen.  Running 72.0.3626.122

So, what was it, if you do not mind me asking?

Ours are all fixed now too! Thanks for sorting that so quickly!

I do appear to be using 2 different app IDs, does anyone know which is correct?

    Hi Luis,

This sounds like a different issue which we identified this afternoon.  We're currently looking into it, and I will update you as soon as I have more information.

Check that this device is running a recent version of Chrome. I had a problem with initially with a device but once I updated Chrome it worked ok. Of course this may or may not be the reason in your case!
