And on top of that, after the internet was reconnected, the screen still stayed white until I rebooted the player. Why the player fails to recover time after time?...

    Darius,

I've created a support ticket so we can get the Display ID for this Display and get to the bottom of what is going on here.

We'll follow up with you in this ticket!

    Darius,

I know we discussed this in the support ticket, but I wanted to add this to this community conversation as well:

The Google Spreadsheet Widget relies on the Rise Cache mechanism when running on a Display. Rise Cache has a 24 hour expiration, after which it will delete all data entries. If a Display starts without network after 24 hours of offline usage, it won’t be able to show that data, as it has been deleted.

Rise Cache currently has no way to override the 24 hour expiration period, and it would require significant modifications to the Widget, Rise Cache, and Rise Player to override this functionality. For this reason, we are not going to make any changes required to accomplish this with the Widget.

We have in our roadmap, plans for building a new Sheets Component to be used for HTML Templates, as an alternative to the Spreadsheet Widget. We do not have a set date as to when these new templates will be available, but we will be notifying all users via our Weekly Playbook when they are made available.
