Your Rise Vision displays can be set up to receive emergency alerts from any service that supports CAP (Common Alerting Protocol). When a CAP alert is received, scheduled content will be interrupted and the alert message will be shown on the screen for the duration of the alert.
On an Interactive Flat Panel running Android or on an Airtame device, the alert will even interrupt streams and other apps to help you stay safe no matter what you were doing. Similarly on an AppleTV, the alert will interrupt an AirPlay feed. Note: refer to additional steps in this article for configuration with AppleTVs.
To follow the instructions in this article, you need a third-party CAP provider. Here’s a short list of our partners who offer CAP among their services:
- STOPit - they have special offers for Rise Vision subscribers.
- Singlewire (InformaCast)
- E2Campus
- Rave
- Alertus
- CrisisGo
- Raptor Technologies
- Navigate360 (via their partner 911 Cellular)
- Share 911
- Ruvna
- Centegix
- Audio Enhancement
If you are using sub-companies, remember to follow these steps once in each sub-company. Each sub-company has a unique Web Service URL, requiring its own configuration in your CAP provider.
- Log in to risevision.com.
- On the top-right, click on your username and then on “CAP Alerts”.
- Click on the “Enable CAP Alerts” toggle to access all the settings.
- In the Provider Settings, the Web Service URL is what your CAP Provider needs to make the connection with Rise Vision. Copy it and paste it in your CAP Provider’s settings.
- If your CAP Provider requires a username and password to receive alerts, set them in the Authentication Name and Password fields to match the ones set by your CAP Provider.
- Note: avoid using special character symbols in the authenticated name and password fields. - There are 3 template layouts to choose from. Click on the one you like. It will be selected with a check mark.
- All CAP fields are shown on the template by default. If you prefer not to show certain fields on your displays, you can unselect them from “Alert Content”. Fields that are unselected will remain blank when an alert is shown.
- All displays in your company will receive alerts by default. You can unselect “Show on all displays” to manually set which ones should be included for alerts.
- “Default Expiry” is the default duration an alert will have if it receives no further instruction from the CAP provider. This duration will only be used if an alert is sent without a duration set and without being followed by an all-clear.
- You can use filters to further restrict which alert messages can be shown on your displays. By default, all messages are shown, but you can expand “Filters” and unselect any or all types of messages. Any alerts that don’t match any selected filters will be ignored.
- Review and accept our Terms & Conditions.
- When you’re done, click “Save”. Your displays will now listen for alert messages.
