Create a Custom Presentation from a 'Blank - Legacy Editor' Template.

This guide shows you how to create a fully custom presentation from scratch using the Blank - Legacy Editor template. This option is best if you want full control over the design and layout of your digital signage, and you cannot accomplish the same design with any of the other modern-coded pre-designed Rise Vision templates.

Instructions

1. Select the Blank Template

  1. Log in to your Rise Vision account.
  2. Click Presentations in the top-left menu.
  3. Click the green + Add Presentation button.
  4. In the pop-up window, locate and select the template named Blank - Legacy Editor.

2. Set the Resolution

  1. Click the ellipsis (three dots) next to the presentation name and select Settings.
  2. Choose a resolution and orientation that matches your display.
  3. If your resolution isn’t listed, select Custom and enter the dimensions manually.

3. Set the Background

  1. Click the ellipsis next to the presentation name to reselect Settings.
  2. To set a background color, click the color wheel and select a color.
  3. To use an image, check Use Image, then click the image icon to upload or choose an existing file.

4. Add a Placeholder

A placeholder is a container for a playlist of content items. Create and arrange as many placeholders as you want within your presentation to organize and control the layout. A placeholder can be any size and placed anywhere within the presentation.

  1. Click Add.
  2. Resize and reposition the placeholder using drag-and-drop or the Properties panel.
  3. Adjust the placeholder to fit your layout needs — it can cover the whole canvas or just part of it.

5. Add Content to the Playlist

  1. Select a placeholder to view its playlist.
  2. Click Add and choose the type of content to include. Options include:
    • Text (static or scrolling)
    • Image
    • Video
    • Widgets:
      • Time and Date
      • Google Spreadsheet
      • Google Calendar
      • RSS Feed
      • Web Page
      • HTML
      • Embedded Presentation

  3. Repeat as needed to build your layout with multiple placeholders and content items.

Behavior Notes

  • The Blank template is the only one that supports the Embedded Presentation widget.
  • You cannot embed a Blank template into a pre-designed Rise Vision template, or the reverse.
