You can schedule your displays to show specific content temporarily—like a message or alert—by using an Override Schedule. This lets you temporarily replace or add content to your Display’s regular schedule and show important messages at defined times.
Instructions
- Log in at risevision.com and click Schedules.
- Click Add Schedule.
- Click the Timeline toggle and configure the start and end time for the override schedule
- Click the Distribution toggle and configure which Displays the override schedule will show on.
- Click the Override dropdown and select a mode:
- Replace: Replaces your Displays default content during a set time range
- Include: Adds content to the Displays default content during a set time range
- Click Add playlist item to add the Presentations you want to show.
- Click Save when finished.
Here is a quick video example going through the setup:
Behavior Notes
If two schedules with the Override - Replace setting toggled on are assigned to the same display:
- If the timelines of the schedules overlap, the most recently triggered schedule's content will be seen.
- Ex 1: if Schedule A is set to appear from 1-4pm and Schedule B is set to appear from 2-4pm, at 3pm only Schedule B’s content will be seen.
- Ex 2: if Schedule A is set to run All Day and Schedule B is set to appear from 2-4pm, at 3pm only Schedule B’s content will be seen.
- If the timelines of the schedules have the same start time, both schedules will be shown.
The time that a schedule was chronologically saved has no bearing on whether it shows or not on a display.
