Behavior Notes
Why is it important to check for auto-launching applications when setting up Rise Player on Chrome OS?
- Auto-launching applications can interfere with the Rise Player and prevent it from loading correctly. We’ve seen issues with other applications ( for example, Google SignBuilder) still being installed in the same Organizational Unit (OU), which can cause problems. Our best practice is to have no other applications that may cause a startup prompt or auto-launch behavior in the dedicated digital signage Organizational Unit (OU).
Some Chrome OS models enter sleep mode during playback. How can I prevent this?
- To prevent Chrome OS devices from entering sleep mode during playback, update your power settings in the Google Admin Console:
- Go to Devices > Chrome > Settings
- Select the Rise Vision Displays organizational unit.
- Under Device Settings > AC Kiosk Power Settings, set the following:
- Action on idle: Do nothing
- Screen dim timeout: 0
- Screen off timeout: 0
- Click Save.
Can I run Chrome OS Flex with Rise Player?
- Rise Player may work on Chrome OS Flex, but is not currently supported
