Install Rise Player on BrightSign

This guide explains how to install Rise Player on BrightSign Series 5 or higher devices using one of three setup methods: BSN Cloud, the BrightSign web console, or a physical SD card.

Requirements

• BrightSign Series 5 or higher
• Access to BrightSign's BSN Cloud or local device network

Instructions

Method 1: Set up using BSN Cloud MDM

1. Sign in to your BSN Cloud account and navigate to the Admin tab.
2. Select Setup Library and choose New Player Setup or use an existing setup.
3. Under the Partner App dropdown, view all and select Rise Vision.
4. Click Save to Library.
5. Navigate to the Admin tab and select Provision.
6. Select the device/devices and select Apply Setup.
7. Once installed, Rise Player will automatically start and display the Rise Vision display activation screen.

If the Rise Vision Application setup does not automatically start, navigate to the Network tab, and open the player’s Open Remote DWS (Gear icon). 

Select the CONTROL tab and Reprovision option. This will automatically wipe the device and update that player’s setup.

Method 2: Set up using the BrightSign web console

1. Download the autorun.BRS file for Rise Player.
2. Power on the BrightSign device and note the IP address shown on screen.
3. Open a web browser and enter the device’s IP address to access the web console.
4. Click the SD Card tab.
5. Click the Browse button, select the autorun.BRS file, then click Upload Files.
6. Reboot the device to complete the setup.

Method 3: Set up using a physical SD card

1. Download the autorun.BRS file for Rise Player.
2. Insert the SD card into your computer and replace the existing autorun.brs file with the downloaded version (ensuring the filename and location remain unchanged).
3. Eject the SD card and insert it into the BrightSign device.
4. Power on or reboot the device to complete the setup.

Behavior Notes

• Use autorun.zip for BSN Cloud installs and autorun.BRS for local or SD card installs.
• When using BSN Cloud to setup Rise Player, you can optionally choose to install Rise Player by selecting the App URL option and entering: https://storage.googleapis.com/install-versions.risevision.com/brightsign/autorun.zip
• Screenshots, reboot, auto-update, and display control features are fully supported on BrightSign.
