This guide explains how to install Rise Player on LG webOS commercial displays.
Rise Player is supported on webOS 4.x or newer.
Installation Steps
1. Choose an Installation Method
You can install the Rise Player IPK file using one of two methods: Option A: USB or Option B: URL (remote). Choose the method that fits your setup.
Option A. USB Installation
This method is recommended for setting up multiple displays.
- Prepare USB flash drive
- Format a USB flash drive as FAT32
- Download scap_installation.json
- Copy or move scap_installation.json to the USB drive
- Insert the USB flash drive into the LG display
- Perform a Factory Reset
- Power on the LG display.
- Using the remote, press Settings → Admin → Factory Reset
- Confirm the reset when prompted.
- Wait for the factory reset to complete
- Turn the LG display on
- Rise Player will be installed and launch automatically
If you are unable to download scap_installation.json from step 2, create it manually and copy-paste the following as the contents:

- Press the Settings (gear) button on the remote or select Setup to open the Settings menu.
- Navigate to EZ Settings → SI Server Setting
- Enable Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN).
- Enter the IPK file URL:
https://risevision.com/ipk - Set Application Launch Mode to Local.
- Set Application Type to IPK.
- Set Local Application Upgrade to Remote.
- Set Auto Set to Off
- Confirm all settings.
- Turn the display off, wait about 10 seconds, then turn it back on. The display will download and install the Rise Player app.
- After reboot, Rise Player will launch automatically.
Behavior Notes
- After installation, the display may take a few minutes to start Rise Player for the first time.
- Make sure the display’s date and time are correct to avoid scheduling or registration issues.
- If the app doesn’t launch after reboot, repeat the installation or check network connectivity.
The following features are available only on supported webOS versions. If your device is running an older version, update your webOS firmware to access these features.
