This guide shows you how to install Rise Player on LG commercial displays running supported webOS versions so your content plays reliably.
Supported Devices and Versions
- Supported: LG commercial displays running webOS 4.x or 6.x
- Not supported:
- LG consumer (non-commercial) displays
- webOS 3.x or lower
- webOS 22 or higher
Instructions
1. Choose an installation method
You can install Rise Player using a USB drive or a remote URL. Choose the method that fits your setup.
Option A: USB installation
- Format a USB flash drive as FAT32.
- Download scap_installation.json.
- Copy the file to the root of the USB drive.
- Insert the USB drive into the LG display.
- Turn on the display.
- Press Settings on the remote.
- Select Admin.
- Select Factory Reset.
- Confirm the reset.
- Wait for the reset to complete.
- Turn the display on.
- Wait for Rise Player to install and launch automatically.
Create the configuration file manually (if needed)
If you cannot download the file, create a file named scap_installation.json and paste the following content:

- Press the Settings button on the remote.
- Select EZ Settings.
- Select SI Server Setting.
- Enable Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN).
- Enter
https://risevision.com/ipk. - Set Application Launch Mode to Local.
- Set Application Type to IPK.
- Set Local Application Upgrade to Remote.
- Set Auto Set to Off.
- Confirm the settings.
- Turn the display off.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Turn the display on.
- Wait for the app to install and launch.
LG Power Mode Management
After installation, Rise Vision will automatically enable Screen Off Always and schedules a Power On event based on your Display settings.
- Sign in to your Rise Vision account.
- Click Displays.
- Select your display.
- Click Manage.
- Turn on Lock Buttons.
Behavior Notes
- The first launch may take a few minutes after installation.
- Ensure the display date and time are correct.
- If the app does not launch, repeat the installation.
- Check network connectivity if installation fails.
- Power BI Dashboards are not supported on LG webOS displays
The following features are available only on supported webOS versions. If your device is running an older version, update your webOS firmware to access these features.
