Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get Fire OS 8 to auto-launch Rise Vision?
Amazon removed the auto-launch feature for all apps in Fire OS 8. To avoid manually launching Rise Vision each day, we recommend disabling the “Restart Daily” option in your Display’s settings:
- Log in at RiseVision.com.
- Go to the Displays tab.
- Click the Display name to open its settings.
- Scroll down to Restart Daily.
- Toggle it off and select Save.
If you require auto-launch and are comfortable using Developer Tools, you can reprogram the Fire TV Stick to enable it.
How do I stop my Fire Stick from sleeping?
By default, Fire OS puts your Fire Stick to sleep after 4 hours of inactivity or when the TV is turned off. To prevent this:
- Turn off CEC in Settings > Display & Audio > Display Settings > CEC
- Turn off “Still Watching” in Settings > Preferences > Data Usage Monitoring > Still Watching
For more details, see Why does Rise Vision Player close automatically on my Fire TV Stick after 4 hours?
How do I set up Fire Sticks at scale?
If you’re deploying many Fire Sticks, create a dedicated Amazon account to manage them. You can use Amazon’s Frustration-Free Setup to avoid re-entering Wi-Fi details on each device.
Note: Amazon accounts appear limited to 200 Fire Sticks. If you’re scaling beyond that, you may need multiple accounts.
How do I prevent unauthorized use of the Fire TV Stick?
Enable Parental Controls to require a PIN for changes. On your Fire Stick:
- Go to Settings > Preferences > Parental Controls.
- Enable Parental Controls.
- Set a PIN and turn on all available options.
A remote can still close Rise Vision Player, but nothing else can be changed without the PIN.
