Screen sharing lets you temporarily interrupt your display’s default content and share your computer, tablet, or mobile device screen directly to a Rise Vision Display. This is useful for live presentations, demos, or interactive sessions.
Prerequisites
- A Rise Vision company with Enterprise or Unlimited subscription tier.
- A configured Display in your Rise Vision account
- If sharing from a smartphone or tablet, use the Rise Vision screen sharing app. Go here on your device to download it. Note: Audio is not shared from mobile devices.
Set Up Screen Sharing
- Go to the Displays tab in your Rise Vision account and select the display you want to configure.
- Open the Screen Sharing tab in the display settings on the right.
-
Select either Standard Mode or Moderator Mode and save your changes. Refer below on the different options available for each.
Use Standard Mode
Standard Mode gives the ability for the display to be used as quickly as possible. This mode is best used when all with access are responsible with its use. Different settings may limit who can use it.
- If you select Standard Mode, several other options will be available.
-
By default, Show Session Code on Screen will be selected causing a 6-digit code to appear on your display in the lower right corner. Don't forget to save any changes.
- On the device you want to share, go to risevision.com/join and enter the 6-digit code.
- Select the content to share:
- Chrome tab (audio can only be shared from here)
- Application window
- Entire screen
- Click Share to begin.
- To stop, click Stop Sharing on your device. The display will return to its default schedule.
- If Require Pin Confirmation is enabled, a PIN code can be entered. A user that attempts to screen share to this display will also need to provide the PIN code to proceed.
- If Require Authentication is enabled, the user will have to sign into their Rise Vision account in order screen share. Only users of the Rise Vision account containing the display will be able to screen share.
- Refer to this article if you want to customize the size, styling, and position of the 6-digit code. If customizing the screen share code, it is best to disable Show Session Code on Screen.
Use Moderator Mode
Moderator Mode gives you more control over who can share to a display. As a moderator, you can invite or remove participants and also share your own screen.
- Assign a user the privilege Screen Share moderator in Settings and then Company Users.
- On the display settings page, open the Screen Sharing tab, toggle Moderator Mode on, and save.
- To start moderating, select Screen Share explore tab in your account and choose an enabled display.
- The selected display will show a 6-character screen share, and invite users to share their screens by going to risevision.com/join to enter that code.
- The moderator will be able to select who can share their screen.
Behavior Notes
- Audio can only be shared from a browser tab.
- You can adjust video quality and audio volume during screen sharing. In Moderator Mode, only the moderator can change these options.
- Screen sharing cannot run while a “replace” schedule or Emergency/CAP alert is overriding a display.
- A stable internet connection ensures smooth performance, but network sharing is not required. Rise Vision supports VLANs, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet.
- One person can only share to one screen at a time.
- Audio is not shared from mobile devices.
- Keep your Rise Vision software and browser up to date for the best compatibility.
- Be mindful of sensitive information visible on your screen.
- Screen sharing is not supported on Apple TV.
- Screen sharing to a webOS device is supported on LG displays running webOS version 6.0 or higher.
