Use this guide to manually install firmware on your K-Series display using a USB drive and complete the required factory reset. This process ensures the firmware installs correctly and resolves update-related issues.
Before You Begin
Download the required firmware file and prepare a USB drive before starting the update.
- Download the firmware file: K-Series Firmware Package
- Follow the official Avocor instructions to prepare the firmware USB drive: AVK-xx10 Firmware Installation Guide
Start the Firmware Upgrade
- Insert the prepared USB drive into the USB 3.0 port on the display mainboard.
- Power off the display.
- Press and hold the Power button.
- Wait for the LED to begin blinking red while continuing to hold the Power button.
- Continue holding the Power button until “LOADING DATA…” appears on the screen.
- Release the Power button when “LOADING DATA…” appears.
- Wait approximately 2 minutes for the update to complete.
- Confirm that “SOFTWARE UPGRADE COMPLETE” briefly appears on the screen.
- Allow the display to reboot automatically.
If the Reboot Message Appears
- Wait for the green message screen to appear after reboot.
- Select Reboot.
- Wait for the display to restart.
Perform a Factory Reset (Required)
- Open the Android menu on the display.
- Select System.
- Select Reset options.
- Select Erase all data (factory reset).
- Confirm the factory reset when prompted.
- Wait for the device to reboot automatically.
- Confirm the reset is complete when the home screen appears.
Behavior Notes
- You must perform the factory reset after the firmware update to ensure proper installation.
- Do not remove power or the USB drive during the firmware upgrade process.
- The display may reboot more than once during this process.
