You can connect multiple screens to a single Windows device and run Rise Player across all of them. This setup is useful for video walls and multi-monitor displays.
Instructions
Step 1: Check platform compatibility
- Confirm you’re using Rise Player for Windows 10 or later. Multi-monitor support is not available on other platforms.
Step 2: Arrange your displays in Windows
- Physically connect all the displays to your Windows device.
- Right-click the desktop and select Display settings.
- In the Multiple displays drop-down, select Extend these displays. This allows your screens to function as one large desktop.
- Arrange the displays in the layout you want (for example, side-by-side or grid).
- Note the combined resolution of the screens. For example, four 1920x1080 displays in a 2x2 grid equal 3840x2160.
Step 3: Configure Rise Player
- On your Windows device, go to the correct directory depending on your installation version:
- For Admin-privileged mode installs, the correct configuration file is found at
C:/ProgramData/rvplayer - For Non-admin privileged mode installs, the files are found at
%localappdata%/rvplayer, otherwise known asC:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\rvplayer.
- For Admin-privileged mode installs, the correct configuration file is found at
- Find and open the file
RiseDisplayNetworkII.iniusing WordPad.
- Add the combined resolution values. Using the example from Step 2:
screenwidth=3840screenheight=2160
- Save the file.
- Restart Rise Player. The Player will now span across all connected displays.
Behavior Notes
- Rise Vision templates are designed for a 16:9 aspect ratio. For best results with Rise Vision's auto-resizing template, arrange your screens in square grids (2x2, 3x3, etc.).
- You can still create custom content for other layouts if needed.
- Ensure your graphics card supports the total resolution of all connected screens.
