If your Rise Vision media player becomes unresponsive or you need to start fresh, you can perform a factory reset. Choose the method below based on your device and situation.
Option 1: Factory Reset via Android Settings (Recommended)
Before You Begin
- A USB mouse is required.
- Plug it into one of the non-blue USB 2.0 ports on the device.
Steps
- Insert the USB mouse into a non-blue USB port on the media player.
- Right-click several times (about five) until the menu appears showing the Rise Player app and the Settings icon.
- Navigate to Settings → System → Reset options.
- Select Erase all data (factory reset).
- Confirm the reset by selecting Erase all data again. You’ll need to confirm twice.
Important
- Do not disconnect power while the reset is in progress.
Option 2: Firmware Reset Using the Reset Button (DN74 Only)
Use this method only if Android settings are not accessible or the player cannot boot normally.
Why This Happens
- The firmware may have become corrupted.
- The device fails to complete its normal startup sequence.
Before You Begin
- A small tool such as a paperclip.
- Access to the reset pinhole on the back of the DN74.
Steps to Reset Using the Hardware Reset Button
- Unplug the DN74 from power.
- Locate the Reset pinhole on the back of the device.
- Insert a paperclip and press and hold the reset button.
- While holding the button, plug the DN74 back into power.
- Continue holding for about 10 seconds, then release.
- The DN74 will automatically boot into the recovery environment
- With your remote, choose Wipe Data/factory reset then select Factory data reset begin the firmware reset process.
Next Steps
- Allow the device to fully complete the reset and reboot process.
- Once finished, the DN74 should restart normally.
