If you're experiencing issues with Rise Player, capturing logs can help our support team troubleshoot. This article shows you how to capture logs from both Web Player and Rise Player running on Windows 10, Linux, or Raspberry Pi.
Note: These steps apply to Web Player (in desktop Google Chrome) and dedicated Displays using Rise Player on Windows 10, Linux, or Raspberry Pi.
Requirements
- Access to the device running Rise Player
- A keyboard and mouse connected to the device
- File browser access to view saved logs
Instructions
Step 1: Get your Web Player link ready
- Skip this step if using Rise Player for Windows 10, Linux or Raspberry PI
- Go to risevision.com and sign in.
- Click Displays in the left-hand menu.
- Select the Display from which you want to capture logs.
- Scroll to the bottom and copy the Web Player link.
- Paste the link into a new browser tab to open the Web Player.
Step 2: Capture logs
Web Player (Google Chrome)
- Make sure the Web Player is open in the active tab.
- Press F12 to open the Chrome Developer Tools.
- Click the Console tab.
- Right-click in the console output and choose Save As.
- Save the log file to a known location on your computer.
- Use your file browser to locate and review the saved log.
Rise Player for Windows 10, Linux, or Raspberry Pi
- With Rise Player running, connect a keyboard and mouse to the Media Player.
- Press CTRL + SHIFT + . (period) to open the Rise Player console.
- Click the Console tab.
- Right-click in the console output and choose Save As.
- Save the log file to a known location on the Media Player.
- Use the file browser to locate and review the saved log.
