This guide shows you how to connect your Rise Vision Media Player to a WiFi network, as well as additional considerations that can include:
- Connecting to a hidden WiFi network
- Setting a static IP address
- Adding a certificate to the media player for network connection
Connecting to a WiFi Network
- Screw the included WiFi antenna onto the connector on the back of the Media Player.
- Connect a USB mouse and keyboard
- Using your mouse, right click to return to the home screen.
- Click and drag from the bottom to the top of the screen to open the menu.
- Click Settings.
- Click Network & internet.
- Click WiFi.
- Select your WiFi network from the list.
- Enter the password and click Connect.
- Close Settings and launch Rise Player to see the activation screen and activate your display.
Connecting to a Hidden WiFi Network
Use these steps if your network does not broadcast its SSID.
- Complete steps 1–7 from the previous section.
- Click Add network.
- Enter your network's name (SSID).
- Select the authentication type and enter the password.
- Expand Advanced options.
- Set Hidden Network to Yes.
- Click Save. Your device will connect automatically.
- Click both mouse buttons together twice to return to the home menu.
- Reopen the Rise Vision Player app to activate your display.
Setting a Static IP Address
You can assign a static IP address during setup or after connecting to WiFi.
- Complete steps 1–7 from the first section.
- Select your WiFi network from the list.
- If prompted, enter the password. If already connected, click the network, then click the pencil icon to edit settings.
- Expand Advanced options.
- Under IP Settings, choose Static.
- Enter the IP information provided by your network team.
- Click Connect or Save.
- Click both mouse buttons together twice to return to the home menu.
- Reopen the Rise Vision Player app to activate your display.
Adding a Certificate to the Rise Vision Media Player
If your network requires a CA or WPA2/WPA3 certificate, email support@risevision.com to request instructions.
Behavior Notes
The Rise Vision Media Player doesn't currently support an active directory like PEAP/802.1x.
