Screen sharing is a powerful feature that allows you to interrupt your display's default signage content and share content from your computer directly onto your Rise Vision display. Whether you need to share a presentation, a live demo, or any other content, screen sharing can enhance your display's versatility and interactivity. Follow the steps below to set up screen sharing on your Rise Vision display.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have a Rise Vision company with Enterprise/Unlimited Licensing.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Navigate to the Displays tab in your Rise Vision account and select the display you would like to set up for screen sharing
- In the display settings, navigate to the Screen Sharing tab.
- Toggle between the two screen-sharing options Standard Mode and Moderator Mode. Save this change
- In this example above, we are using Standard mode, which will display a 6-digit code on the display
- Go to risevision.com/join on the device you would like to share, and enter the 6-digit code to pair your device with the display.
- Once connected, you'll be prompted to select the content you want to share.
- Choose a Chrome Tab, Window, or your Entire Screen
- Click Share to start sharing the selected content on the display.
- To end the screen-sharing session, select Stop Sharing on your device, the display will revert back to the default schedule assigned to it.
Turning on Moderator Mode
As the moderator, you can:
- Invite participants: Allow a specific user who has entered the 6-digit code to share their screen on a display.
- Remove participants: If needed, you can remove participants who have connected to your display.
- Share your screen: You can also share your screen with participants during a session.
- Assign a user profile the privilege Screen Share moderator within the Company Users or User settings
- Select a display and select the Screen Sharing tab within the display settings, toggle on the "Moderator Mode" and save this change
- To start moderating screen sharing, go to the Screen Share option and select an enabled display
Mobile Device Screen Sharing
The Rise Vision Share application enables users to share content from their mobile devices directly to a display. The app is available for download on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
Currently, the Rise Vision Share app supports screen sharing in Standard Mode, which requires a 6-digit session code. Once a session is initiated, the display will mirror the device’s screen until the session is manually terminated.
- Download and install the Rise Vision Share app from the Google Play Store.
- Open the app and connect to the target display by entering the 6-digit session code.
- To end the session, select Stop Sharing in the app.
Additional Considerations
- While Screen Sharing you do have the option to select a specific video quality from the drop-down menu and toggle the desired audio volumes. In moderator mode, only the moderator will be able to change these options.
- Screenshare cannot be enabled while an override "replace" schedule is actively displaying on a display.
- While network sharing is not required, a stable internet connection ensures smooth and uninterrupted screen sharing.
- Guests, employees, teachers, or students can easily share their screens while connected to any network. Rise Vision supports VLANs, connection via wifi, and ethernet.
- Be mindful of the content visible on your screen before sharing, especially if sensitive information is displayed.
- Ensure that both your Rise Vision software and your browser are up to date to avoid compatibility issues.
