Symptoms
- The date and/or time shown in a presentation is incorrect.
- Content starts/ends at the wrong hours compared to the Schedule you configured.
Why this happens
Rise Vision uses the device’s operating system clock and time zone. If those are wrong, the time shown in presentations and the Schedule windows will also be wrong.
Resolution
Follow these steps on the media player device connected to your display.
- Connect a keyboard and mouse to your media player
- Stop Rise Player by pressing
Control + Shift + Q - Open the system Date & Time settings (choose your OS):
- Windows 10/11
- Start → Settings → Time & Language → Date & Time
- Turn Set time automatically On.
- Turn Set time zone automatically On (or pick the correct Time zone).
- Click Sync now (if available).
- Ubuntu (Desktop)
- System Menu → Settings → Date & Time
- Turn Automatic Date & Time On.
- Set the correct Time Zone.
- Raspberry Pi OS (Raspbian)
- Menu → Accessories → Terminal
- Run:
sudo raspi-config - Go to Localization/Internationalization Options → Timezone
- Select the correct region and city.
- Save and reboot if prompted.
- Restart Rise Player (or reboot the device) and check behavior are now correct.
