With Classroom Alerts enabled, Rise Player will automatically wake the TV, switch to the correct HDMI input, and start showing your alert content, even if Rise Player isn’t currently running.
How Classroom Alerts works:
- A Replace Schedule - Override or CAP Alert content is sent to your display
-
Rise Player receives the update and issues HDMI-CEC commands to:
- Power on the TV
- Switch active source to the HDMI input used by Rise Player
- Rise Player then automatically shows the alert content
Requirements
- OS support: Windows or Android. See the Rise Player Compatibility & Feature Matrix below
- Hardware: A media player and TV/panel that support HDMI-CEC, with CEC enabled on the display.
How to enable Classroom Alerts
- Log in to your Rise Vision account and click Displays
- Click the Display you want to enable the feature on
- Click the Override Alerts toggle to enable the feature.

Behavior Notes
- Display input changes triggered via Device Display Control (e.g., switching from HDMI1 to HDMI2). After a Classroom Alert or Replace Schedule is sent and the timeline has expired, the display will not automatically revert to its original input source.
- Display Control functionality on the Rise Vision Media Player requires the use of the HDMI 2.0 port. To ensure your display is connected to this specific port, please review the How do I connect my TV for Display Control using the Rise Vision Media Player?
