Rise Vision Player is supported on Android and Android TV versions 8.0 and higher, with the following known exceptions:
- Devices that clear application data after each session.
- Promethean AP9
- SMART Board MX-4
Other devices from the above vendors running Android 8.0 and higher are supported.
The following features are not supported on Android:
- Display Control with CEC
- Rebooting the device remotely
Generally there are 3 ways to install Rise Player on Android. Available options may vary by device but generally:
- For devices with an app store, install from the app store.
- For mass deployments, install using a Mobile Device Management service.
- For manual installation, download and install the APK.
Install Rise Vision Player from the app store
- Open the your device's app store or Google Play Store and search for "Rise Vision Player".
- Install the app on the device you are using for digital signage.
- Launch the Rise Vision Player app on the device.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to activate your display.
Install using a Mobile Device Management service
On Android, Rise Vision Player isn't able to update automatically without using the Google Play Store or a brand-specific app store. To update Rise Vision Player after installing from an MDM, you will need to rerun the installation package.
Set up the installation package:
You only need to follow these steps the first time you install Rise Vision Player in your environment.
- In your MDM app, go to Repositories and then Packages.
- Click on the "+ Add New" button to add a new package.
- Use this link as the File URL:

- Name the package "Rise Vision Player".
Deploy the package to your devices
Whether you need to install or update Rise Vision Player, these are the same steps:
- Select the devices or groups on which you'd like to install Rise Vision Player.
- In the actions menu, click on Install Packages.
- Click on the Rise Vision Player package you configured above and then click Apply.
- You will typically receive a notification in your MDM when the installation has completed.
- If you're installing on any devices for the first time, finish the installation by launching Rise Vision Player on the device and following the on-screen instructions to activate your display.
Install manually using the Rise Vision Player APK
On Android, Rise Vision Player isn't able to update automatically without using the Google Play Store or a brand-specific app store.
- On the Android device you are using as a display, download the APK from this link.
- Launch the APK file and follow the on-screen prompts to install Rise Vision Player.
- Once the installation completes, the Rise Vision Player app should be on the home screen.
- Launch the Rise Vision Player app.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to activate your display.
When an update is available, an "Update" prompt will appear on-screen. You can click on it and follow the on-screen prompts to update manually.
FAQ regarding Emergency Alerts (CAP alerts):
Can Rise Vision turn on or wake up my IFP?
When an IFP’s network communication is off (when it is turned off or in sleep mode), our application cannot turn the device on.
Can Rise Vision control the inputs on my IFP?
Yes, if the IFP is currently using a different input or application the device will switch immediately to the Rise Vision Player and display the CAP alert when it is triggered.
