Integrating Power BI with Rise Vision enables you to showcase dynamic data visualizations securely within your digital signage content. This guide offers step-by-step instructions for seamlessly incorporating Power BI reports or dashboards into Rise Vision.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have the following:
- A Rise Vision company with Enterprise Licensing
- A Microsoft O365 account
- An "Admin" or "Member" role in your Power BI Workspace account. "Contributor" or "Viewer" roles will not be able to share content from Power BI to Rise Vision
Steps to Set up Power BI with Rise Vision
1. Create a new presentation using the Power BI - Full screen template or add the Power BI component to any pre-made template
2. Select the Power BI section
3. Sign in to your Microsoft O365 account by selecting "Sign in with Microsoft". This will present a prompt with the required permissions.
4. Set the desired Workspace, Dashboard, and Refresh Rate.
5. Publish this content and add it to a schedule.
Important Considerations
Keep in mind the resolution of the display when configuring this Power BI template or component. If a display in Rise Vision uses a 16:9 aspect ratio, the dashboard and reports will look the best by matching this aspect ratio.
It is recommended to create a separate O365 login dedicated to Rise Vision. This way you can share only the required dashboards with this account instead of allowing all dashboards to be visible.
Schedule Preview Limitations
For privacy and security, any Power BI presentation will not show a preview of the content in the Schedule editor. It will instead appear as a white overlay.
