Show a Microsoft PowerBI Dashboard

This guide shows you how to integrate Microsoft Power BI dashboards or reports with Rise Vision so you can display dynamic, up-to-date data on your digital signage.

Requirements

  • A Rise Vision account with Enterprise Licensing
  • A Microsoft O365 account
  • “Admin” or “Member” role in your Power BI Workspace (not “Contributor” or “Viewer”)

Note for Power BI Government Users

If you are using a Power BI Government tenant (GCC, GCC High, or DoD), you may experience limitations when attempting to embed reports using our integration. Government cloud environments differ from the commercial Power BI service and may not support certain embedding features—such as “Publish to web” or embedding via iframe—due to enhanced security and compliance requirements.

If you’re unsure whether your account is part of a government tenant, please contact your Microsoft 365 administrator.

Instructions

  1. Create a new Presentation using the Power BI – Full Screen template, or add the Power BI component to an existing Presentation.
  2. Select the Power BI component in the editor.
  3. Click Sign in with Microsoft and authorize the required permissions. If you have signed in previously to Power BI, the system will recall your credentials.
  4. Select the Dashboard or Report you want to display, and then choose your desired Workspace. Set the Refresh Rate if needed.
  5. Click Publish, then add the Presentation to a Schedule for your Display.

Behavior Notes

  • Aspect Ratio: For best results, use Displays with a 16:9 aspect ratio to match the Power BI layout.
  • Dedicated Login: We recommend creating a dedicated O365 login for Rise Vision. Only share the necessary dashboards with this account for better access control.
  • Preview Limitations: Power BI content will not preview in the Schedule editor due to security. A white overlay will appear instead.
