You can easily show your upcoming events from Microsoft Outlook Calendar on a Rise Vision display using a Calendar template. Once set up, the display will automatically update every few minutes with your latest events.
Requirements
- A Microsoft Outlook Calendar account
- Admin approval in your Microsoft Azure Active Directory, if required.
Instructions
- Log in to your Rise Vision account, and from the Presentation tab select the + Add Presentation button. Select a presentation from one of our Calendar templates.
- Look for presentations with “Calendar” in their name, or
-
Go to the Content filter dropdown on the left and select Calendar.
- Click on the Calendar base component in the left-hand panel to configure the calendar settings.
- Choose Sign in with Microsoft to connect your Outlook Calendar.
- If you're not already signed in, a pop-up will prompt you to log in and grant permissions. If this is your first time connecting, accept the permissions request. If you've signed in to Microsoft in a separate presentation, the system will recall your credentials.
- In the calendar settings panel:
- Select your Calendar Group.
- Select the Outlook Calendar you want to display.
-
Set the Date Range (e.g., next 7 days). If there are no events during this range, the calendar will appear empty.
- When finished, click Publish to push your calendar to the display.
Behavior Notes
- Changes to your Outlook Calendar will appear on the display within about 5 minutes.
Accessing Calendars across Multiple Microsoft Accounts
If you wish to sign into a different Microsoft Outlook account than your usual one in order to connect a calendar, you may run into difficulties since your Rise Vision account will always attempt to recall the first Microsoft Outlook account it connected to in the past. To get around this:
- Sign into your Rise Vision account.
- Outside of Rise Vision and in separate internet tabs sign into the multiple Microsoft accounts in the browser (your main account and the alternate accounts you want to access to calendar purposes).
- Leaving those tabs open, return to the Rise Vision tab, disconnect your Microsoft Outlook link in the presentation and try re-connecting. The Microsoft authorization modal should provide you both accounts to choose from.
Troubleshooting Admin Approval Prompts
If you receive a “Need admin approval” message when signing in, your Microsoft account may require administrative consent to connect to Rise Vision.
How to Grant Admin Consent in Azure Portal
- Go to the Azure Portal: https://portal.azure.com
- Search for and open Azure Active Directory.
- Click Enterprise Applications from the left-hand menu.
- Search for Rise Vision Incorporated:
- If listed, click on it.
- If not listed, proceed to grant consent in the next step.
- Click Permissions and then click Grant admin consent for [Your Organization].
- Review the permissions and confirm.
