This integration allows you to pull and show event management data (like room bookings) for specific displays.
Requirements
Because Ad Astra functions on an organizational level, you only need one account connection (using a single Tenant ID and API key) on behalf of your entire company.
Instructions - Ways to Connect Ad Astra
There are two ways you can establish a new connection with your Ad Astra account:
Method 1: Through the Template Editor
- From the Presentations tab, select + Add Presentation and then open the Event Management System - Full Screen template.
- You can alternatively add a custom component to any other presentation template for the same functionality. To do that, open your choice of presentation, select + Add New Component, and choose the Event Management instance.
- In the Event Management component settings, click the Continue with Ad Astra button.
- In a pop-up, you will be prompted to enter your organization’s Tenant ID and API Key.
- Click Connect to your account. Your credentials will safely save to the backend database, and the component will immediately begin rendering your event data.
- Publish the presentation and assign it to a schedule.
Method 2: Through Company Settings
- Navigate to the Integrations page within your Company Settings.
- Locate Ad Astra from the available integrations list to connect and manage your credentials globally. Note: If you have already connected via a template, it will automatically show as connected here)
- Follow steps 1,2, and 5 from the above Method 1.
Filtering Events by Display Room
Presentations using Ad Astra have the option to filter data for the specific Display on which they appear. This is very useful if you want to use displays to note specific room booking, without having to build multiple presentations (one for each room) in risevision.com.
In the Ad Astra presentation settings, If you are using layouts like the Room Status Layout to show the current availability of a specific room, you can filter your Ad Astra data so that a display only shows events matching that specific room.
- In your presentation with the Event Management component, toggle on the Filter by Display Room setting.
- Select either Room Schedule or Room Status.
- Save and Publish your changes.
- Navigate to the Displays tab, and select your specific Display to open its settings.
- Under the Manage tab on the right, enter the unique Room ID provided by Ad Astra into the Room Identifier field. This tells the system when the Ad Astra presentation is on the display screen to only show data related to that Room ID.
- Save your changes.
