The Event Management System component allows you to display schedules from Google Resource Calendars, Microsoft Calendars, Ad Astra, or iCal URLs on your digital signage. This is perfect for showing room availability, upcoming meetings and room schedules.
Requirements
- Login credentials for the appropriate Event Management System to integrate within Rise Vision.
- If using Ad Astra, they function on an organizational level so only one account connection (using a single Tenant ID and API key) is required on behalf of your entire company.
Instructions
- Log in to Rise Vision and open the presentation you want to edit. While some presentations are specifically pre-designed for Event Management System integration like the Event Management System - Full Screen template, all presentations can integrate this function.
- Click on the Add Component button, if Event Management is not already listed in the Base Components.
- Select Event Management from the list of components.
- Connect your Calendar by selecting one of the provided integrations and provide the requested data in the sign in prompt (ex: email, password, tenant ID, etc):
- Ad Astra
- Google Calendar
- Microsoft Outlook
- iCal (which is used by several other services, like 25Live
- Select a Layout:
- Room Schedule: Shows a chronological list of upcoming events.
- Room Status: Highlights whether a room is currently "Available" or "Busy" and shows when the next meeting begins.
- Set the Date Range to determine how many days, weeks, or months of events to show.
- Customize the look by adjusting the Color, Background, and Description toggles.
- When all customization is complete, click Publish and assign your presentation to a display's schedule.
Behavior Notes
Room Mapping for Ad Astra or iCal: If you use the "Filter by Display Room" feature with Ad Astra or iCal, you must map the display to a specific room ID:
- Go to the Displays tab in Rise Vision and select your display to go into its settings.
- In the Manage section on the right, look for Room Identifier.
- Enter the unique Room ID from your calendar and save. This ensures the display only shows events for that specific room. Save your changes.
Auto-Scrolling
When the Room Schedule layout has more events than can fit on the screen, it will automatically scroll to the bottom, pause, and then return to the top.
Responsive Scaling
The component is designed to maintain its aspect ratio. When you resize it in the editor, it will scale proportionally and stop at a minimum size to ensure the text remains readable.
